Day 1
Depart from Dublin and agreed pick up points and travel to Roscommon stopping for tea and scones at the Castle Hotel in Roscommon. Continue from Roscommon to Westport checking into the Castlecourt Hotel for evening meal,entertainment and accommodation. You'll find everything you need at the Castlecourt Hotel for that well-earned break. A family run hotel, they have earned the reputation as a home away from home. The hotels stunning classical decor injected with contemporary indulgences, creates a place where you can simply relax, knowing someone else will take care of things.
Day2
Depart from hotel and travel to Knock Shrine for a day tour. What does a pilgrim find at Knock? A chance to pray, a chance to relax, a chance to find peace. The devotions that have developed in the course of one hundred years guaranteed to touch the soul. In the evening return to the Castlecourt Hotel for evening meal and live entertainment.
Day3
Depart hotel and travel to Kylemore Abbey and Lenan. Nestled at the base of the Druchruach Mountain (1,736ft) on the northern shore of Lough Pollacappul, the heart of the Connemara Mountains Kyle More Abbey and the estate are open to visitors all year. The main areas to be visited are: the Abbey, the Gothic Church, the Victorian Walled Gardens, the Craft Shop, Pottery Studio, Restaurant and Tea Rooms as well as the Lake and Woodland Walks. Visit the site of the making of "The Field" featuring the waterfall, pub and other attractions where filiming occured.
Day 4
Visit Westport House and Gardens - designed by the famous architects Richard Cassels and James Wyatt in the 18th Century, Westport House is one of the most beautiful Historic Homes and run by the Browne family who are direct descendants of the 16th Centuary Pirate Queen, Grace O'Malley. Westport House is situated in a magnificant Parkland setting, with lake, terraces and gardens overlooking Clew Bay. Spend the afternoon shopping or sight seeing in Westport.
Day 5
Depart hotel and travel to Galway. Visit Athenry the town of medieval arts and heritage. Visit Eyre Square (renamed John F Kennedy Park); an open green park where one can relax of view the many attractions, including the Statue of Paraic O'Connaire; erected in 1935 in memory of the writer who travelled the roads with his horuse and cart. Best remembered for M'asal Beag Dubh. Died 1928.
End of tour depart and return to pick up points.
